Michelle S Hansen needs our help!

It is with the heaviest heart I tell this story that my brother Mark Hansen collapsed and passed away unexpectedly Sunday August 13th leaving his adoring wife, Michelle Santos Hansen, and 5 children and everyone who knew him heartbroken.  Many of you may not know the incredible life story of this family and the struggles they have overcome and I'm afraid now their toughest road lies ahead. I joked that my brother had 9 lives. Mark struggled with addiction at times in his life. At any point this could have taken his life. It is the love of his wife and family that saved him. Mark survived 9/11 in NY in a collapsed subway in his Wall Street days. He gave all that up for his wool socks and Birkenstocks to live a simpler life. 10 years ago his life was rocked again when doctors told him he had a huge tumor on his kidney and had 6 months to live. His wife was pregnant with thier 5th child.  With a will to live that seemed impossible at the time he survived the cancer that took his kidney, his spleen, part of his stomach, and cancer treatment... by all accounts a miraculous surgery and recovery that even the best doctors available knew seemed impossible. But the cancer took its toll on Mark's body. From that time on Mark was unable to work and remained on disability. To make ends meet Michelle works 2 jobs and Mark was a stay at home Dad. Both of her jobs through the night one 11PM-7AM, and the other 7PM to 7AM and most recently she did all this and decided to go back to school to study her passion, nursing and home birthing. With a dream of one day opening her own Birthing Center. But now Michelle's family needs her around more than ever. And she needs our help!
