My mom currently works as an RN and spends most of her time devoting her life to helping others, not only at her job but in her personal life as well (as I’m sure those of you who know her can attest to). Now it's our turn to help her.

A brief history..
My mom hasn’t had the easiest time over the past several years, mentally or physically. Life has truly pushed her to her limits and tested her in ways that I would never wish upon anyone. Starting with her Bell’s palsy attack, which left her without feeling in half of her face. She's spent years trying to adapt to the new daily struggles of trying to eat, speak, or drink anything. Then, 4.5 years ago the worst thing imaginable happened to our family..her husband, my dad, unexpectedly passed away. This has obviously left her with mental health issues that affect her every single day. In spring of 2016, she had a 12 lb tumor removed from her uterus, accompanied by a total hysterectomy AND an appendectomy all at once.

Which bring us to date.. for those of you who don't know, my mom was diagnosed with Stage 3/3 Multiple Myeloma. This is a malignant, incurable cancer that affects the bone marrow and has deteriorated her immune system. She has tumors all down her spine and ribs and her bones are weak and prone to breaking. She has been in chemotherapy for months now and undergoing radiation to try and keep the cancer from getting any worse, meanwhile dealing with excruciating pain. In a couple months she is scheduled to go through a stem cell transplant to hopefully better control the pace at which this cancer is spreading. She will be as weak as humanly possible in the hospital for 3 weeks and on recovery at home for 2 months with a mandatory round the clock care. Unfortunately during this time she will not be making an income to help pay for any of her medical expenses.

This is not an easy thing to ask for, but after looking at all of our options, I feel like we have no choice. My mom has had a string of bad luck followed by medical bills that are pushing her further and further into debt. If you have anything you’d be willing to donate, even just your well wishes, it would be appreciated more than you’d know.

Thanks,
Taylor
