Michelle Gaghan Medical Fund

My sister, Michelle Gaghan, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I am asking for help with her medical bills, which are building up. She is facing a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.

Michelle is a self-employed daycare provider who loves all her “kiddos” dearly! She has been told she will have to be out of work at least 4 to 6 weeks and then it will be quite a while before she will be able to do any lifting. Not only is she facing being away from her “kiddos” for so long, but she will have the expense of hiring someone to run the daycare until she can get back to work fully.

Michelle’s daughter, Brooke, is a sophomore in High School who plays Field Hockey. Her son, Cameron, has just started attending Kennebec Valley Community College. As anyone with a child in school knows, there is always something they need money for.

Rusty, Michelle’s husband, is working and is trying to be available for Michelle when she needs him the most. However, if he is out of work, he doesn’t get paid.

Michelle does a lot for our Mother who is in a nursing home and our brother who is mentally disabled. If she hears of a friend or neighbor in need, she is willing to jump in with both feet and make sure they are taken care of. It’s time for her to be taken care of.

I am humbly asking for help with her medical bills so she can concentrate on beating this dreadful disease and not be worried about how she is going to pay her bills. My fear is that she will try to go back to work too soon after surgery in order to save money.
