Michayla's Trip to Nicaragua

This August, I'm hoping to head back to Nicaragua with a team of people to visit the beautiful young girls at La Villa Esperanza...The Village of Hope. These girls were brought in to the Villa due to being at severe risk of physical abuse, sex trafficking, rape, teen pregnancy, and drug abuse. The Villa provides these girls with meals, safe drinking water, medical and psychological care, tutoring, vocational training and emotional support.
Last year, I was lucky enough to travel to Managua and get to know the girls at the Villa. Although the language barrier was a bit of a challenge, given my memory of highschool Spanish was hazey at best...we built connections that I will never forget. It's an absolute honor to be able to support these girls who have had much harder lives than we will ever know.
After hearing about the terrorist attack in Manchester last night on girls the exact same age as my girls in Nicaragua, I knew I had to try and make this trip a possibility. I feel specifically called to empower women who have been subject to extreme poverty and it would be the greatest gift to have the opportunity to pour into these girls lives this summer. If you're in the same spot as me and wondering how on earth we can begin to rebuild the chaos that the evil of this world has ensued, please consider contributing to making this trip to Nicaragua a possibility for me. The first $1,175 is due June 8th. The next $1,175 is due mid July. The simple truth is that if I cannot raise 100% of the trip cost, I won't be able to go.
