Club Industry Article On Michael Scudder's Unexpected Death
As many of you in the fitness industry may have heard, Michael Scott Scudder unexpectedly passed away in late June of this year after a hip replacement surgery.
Many of you have already reached out with kind words and offers of help and support to Michael’s life partner and dearest friend Phyllis Landis.
Words cannot express the grief, heartache and shock we all feel. Phyllis is devastated by what occurred as we all are. Michael did so much for so many of us and he cannot really be replaced. We know there are many out there who are thankful for his friendship and support over many years.
Due to the sudden and unexpected nature of Michael’s passing, Phyllis needs our help now. She has a group of friend but we are reaching out to the fitness community to help secure her immediate future and provide some certainty in these trying times as best we can.
Your donations will be used to pay for funeral and medical expenses and to create a safety net for Phyllis to stay in her and Michael's home. We are truly grateful for anything you can give. 10% of your donation will also be given to the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary , and Oglala Lakots College .
