Michael's Kidney Fund

Three years ago, I met the love of my life. The most kind, generous, and giving man I've ever encountered. Michael is now my beloved husband, and was diagnosed with end stage renal failure one year ago due to hypertension. His kidneys have very little function, and he does dialysis treatments five days a week to keep toxins out of his body since his kidneys won't do their job. He is in need of a kidney transplant. The doctors have given him a 50% chance of living for the next seven years, without a transplant. As we are in the process of finding live donors, and on the waiting list for a deceased donor, we are struggling to support our family. We have four children and we are a blended family, with a daughter who is 15, and three boys ages 9, 7, and 16 months. Michael has been out of work for almost a year now, and we have been denied disabilty income even though he is no where near ready to go back to work. Just in the past month and a half, he has been in and out of the hospital four times or more due to complications with dialysis and illness. The rest of the year has also been filled with hospital visits. We are currently behind on most bills, and are in need of our second vehicle being fixed, as it has been sitting in the shop for about a month. We are grateful we at least have one vehicle, however, with four kids and several doctors appointments and hospital visits it gets very difficult with only one vehicle. Most importantly, we are afraid of losing our home and not being able to support our children. The most giving man I know has given all that he can and is now in need of help to financially support his family.
