By January of 2018, Michael Pineschi's partner of 9 years, Beka, who is very lovely and wonderful, will no longer be covered by his employer's health care plan. This is particularly troubling as Beka is a first-time mom and gave birth to a new baby girl just one month ago. And now, she will not be able to receive the medical care and medication needed to make sure she is safe and healthy. Please support Michael and his family so that Beka is able to receive the post-natal care through COBRA--care that she needs to be a healthy mom and partner.
Though Michael and Beka have been together for a long time and really love each other, they cannot get married because of debt and financial complications. They will be domestic partners for life. In addition, Beka needs a medication that costs $600 a month to ensure that she stays healthy.
By 2018, Beka will no longer be able to go to the doctor. Michael and the family have no way of paying for any medical visits and medicine out of pocket. Our collective funds will provide temporary support for Michael's family while they think of a sustainable plan.
This is my personal plea to all: Michael and Beka are very wonderful and deeply kind people. Michael has sacrificed a lot for his community, for workers, and for his job, and this is the time to support him. If Michael fights every day to ensure that other people have the benefits, respect, dignity, and livelihoods that they deserve, then we can fight for the same for him, by supporting him and his family during these difficult times.
