Michaela's DOC Band Treatment

Thank you for even taking interest in our situation. I'm Alex, Michaela's mom. Michaela was only 2lbs 11oz when she was born 2 months premature due to preeclampsia. She stayed in the NICU to focus on getting big and strong while trying to treat her bradycardic episodes and severe gastroesophageal reflux. Because of her severe reflux, she had to spend most of her 2 months on her back to keep her from choking on her spit up. This prolonged time on her back, along with her very thin preemie skull, has left her with moderately severe brachycephaly (a.k.a. Flat Head Syndrome). Now a flat head isn't the end of the world, but her drastically mishappen skull base has led to her ears and eyes to become misaligned. This can lead to chronic ear infections, compromised vision, cross-bite, and/or underbite. She is still young enough that the DOC Band treatment will most likely correct all these issues, which is great, but the band costs $2,500. I can't afford it and our "good" private insurance refuses to cover it, even after several appeals. So now I'm here, swallowing my pride, asking for any and all help to get my baby girl the treatment she needs to reshape her future. Every little bit truely does help and will be eternally appreciated. Thank you
