Michaela's Lyme Treatment

Donation protected
Over the last 5+ years, Michaela has been suffering from chronic pain, fatigue, and brain fog, amongst other symptoms. After years of false diagnoses and failed treatments/medications, she was finally advised to take the Western blot tests IgG and IgM, which test for Lyme disease, and both results came back positive. After further testing, twelve co-infections were found along with multiple other viruses caused by her weakened immune system due to the Lyme Disease. Because of a diagnosis that was long overdue, she is considered to have Chronic Lyme Disease, which means it will be an intense process to reach full recovery.

In order to properly treat the co-infections, viruses and Lyme itself, many different medications, supplements and treatments are required. Originally, Michaela was going to proceed with the medications and treatments as her and her family could afford, but after becoming more knowledgeable about the disease and her state of health, it became increasingly clear that she would need to continue her medications as well as receive consistent treatments in order to recover as soon as possible.

The costs leading up to her diagnosis combined with her initial tests, treatments and medications have amounted to $18,000 which has been paid out of pocket between her and her family as well as a loan received from a friend in order to kickstart the process.

Her next treatment will be Stem Cell Treatment. This is a two week process with a long recovery period.

The Stem Cell Treatment costs $20,000 plus additional costs for supplements and other therapies.

After her stem cell recovery, she will follow up with her Lyme specialist and see what is left of the Lyme and co-infections to kill off.

Michaela’s family has generously decided to do away with birthday and Christmas presents, and has instead requested this money be donated towards medical bills. She is also in the process of writing and recording a song that will be released early 2018 - the proceeds will also go towards medical bills.

Michaela has created a blog and vlog to share her story in hopes of comforting those who may also be suffering with physical and mental pain, as well as educating others on this complicated, difficult-to-diagnose disease. Through this, she has already had the opportunity to connect with a handful of people who share a similar story and are seeking guidance. With this, she has also developed a team to assist in starting a charity called “I Love The Way You Lyme” where those suffering will be able to find reputable resources and will eventually be able to receive financial assistance in order to reach recovery.
