MICHAEL'S OSTEOSARCOMA CANCER TREATMENT

Donation protected
Michael who recently turned 18 years old has been suffering from cancer since 2014. Michael was first diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (Cancer which is produced in the bone) in his right leg. Immediately, he went through a series of Chemotherapy and amputated his leg (replacing the bone). Successfully, he was able to walk again in just a few months.

During the process of being treated for Osteosarcoma, Michael was unable to attend school for almost 2 years, however, had adequate homeschooling and therapy.

In 2016, Michael was finally attending school again and his life was back to normal. It was this same year, he went in for his regular routine checkup and results showed that cancer spread to his lungs. He was able to do an immediate operation to remove these cells. After completing the surgery and treatments, Michael was doing his daily activities again.

In December 2018, his daily activities failed again as Michael cried for severe pain and upon several visits to the hospital, doctors were unable to identify the cause for such pain. Another visit to the hospital and his mother was already frustrated being given the same response over and over for the unidentified cause of pain.  She then requested an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan to be able to better allocate any issues in the body. Results came and Michael was diagnosed again with cancer! This aggressive spreading disease is wrapped around his spinal cords.

Michael was immediately admitted to the hospital to begin treatment and has been scheduled for surgery on June 28, 2019 to remove these cancer cells. The cost is over $140,000 USD with insurance but requires a co-pay of $29,850  to begin this surgery immediately.

Michael’s surgery will be the most complexed operation (in history) that will get done in the hospital, therefore, requires a group of 20 highly professional team to fulfill this surgery successfully. The surgery will last 16 hours or more as the team will be working closely to the spine. This must be done on a very sensitive scale to avoid Michael from becoming paralyzed after the surgery.

We would like Michael’s surgery to be a possibility as all lives matter. Michael has been such a charming, fun, smart, dedicating young man who enjoys every bit of life. He is a great lover of basketball and wishes to continue playing his sport with family and friends. He also dreams of becoming the next top basketball player in the world.

Beyond the emotional hardship that he and the family are facing, the financial burden of the disease is very depressing. Michael’s high medical cost for his treatments and surgeries in 2014 and 2016, was an alarming financial impact. Families and friends came together to make these treatments and surgeries possible.

That’s why we, the family and friends, of Michael desperately seek to show our love towards his upcoming surgery by raising $140,000 USD to make this treatment possible. Please take a moment to consider donating to this loving family as no contribution is too small to make an impact.

From deep in our hearts, we truly love and appreciate everyone who is able to contribute and share his story to others for contributions. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!!!!
BLESS YOU!
