Hello,
My name is Craig Watkins, I am the younger brother of Michael Watkins, age 41, my brother was recently the victim of an attempted home invasion robbery in September, in Phoenix, Arizona. My brother struggled and fought with the intruder and was then shot in the back and now unfortunately is paralyzed from the chest down. Mike is in good spirits and doing well with his recovery. Moving forward he will be living with our mother and we are in the process of getting her house modified to support a disabled person. We recently were able to get a wheel chair ramp built by a donation from a local fire department, we are now in the process of modifying a bathroom to support a disabled person in a wheel chair. This includes converting a tub, into a roll in shower with a seat, new plumbing work, and a specialized toilet to make it easier for him to care for himself. Mike and our mother do not have a lot and I have been trying to help as much as possible as he is not currently working and my mother is retired and living off a fixed income. We are a proud family and believe in working for everything we have and need, but the expenses of this live changing tragedy keep mounting. We appreciate any and all help you might be able to provide to allow us to complete the small construction project and care for my brother. God bless you and thank you for reading.
