Michael "Spud" Holland is a man who has had 1 lifelong dream. To be a racecar driver. And now he is a man with hope as this dream is about to become a reality.
Michael has been offered the chance to try out or "audition" for the Aussie Driver Search competition which is running this August in QLD at the Morgan Park Raceway. If he is successful in his try-out, he will go to the final try-out at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek in NSW in October. To get selected for this he has already had to beat out over 750 applicants!
The major prize for the driver that wins the final is a fully paid drive in the Toyota '86 racing series which is a nationwide, televised racing series that runs 6 rounds of the 2018 season.

In order to get to this point, Michael needs to raise $5000 to cover his costs for entry fees, flights, accomodation and transfers. The entry fee alone is $2550 and is due to be paid by the 23rd of June to ensure that his spot is secured.
Michael isn't relying only on the GoFund Me money he will get from supporters however. He is working hard for this too! He has already sold up everything that isn't screwed down and is auctioning off his model car collection (Links to follow!) and will be securing sponsorship from commerical partners in the near future. We are reaching out to family and friends to give you all the opportunity to sow into Michael's future. How great will it be that we can all play a part in helping him reach his dreams?

Go Karts in 125 light class, clubman light class and Senior National Light class, participating in 5 state championships in WA, Western Cup top 3 for 3 rounds in 2009, and club racing throughout WA for 10 years.

What are your goals with motorsport?
I want to be a professional race car driver. Pure and simple. I have a life-long passion for motorsport in all its forms and classes. It is all I have ever wanted to do. Currently, this is still what I am working towards. Work outside of racing holds no lure for me. It is simply a means to an end.
I aspire to one day drive GT cars, but I love driving any car to its absolute potential – no matter what it is. And I know my passion will carry me through any class to reach my goals.
I have a passion for production cars and endurance racing also, and want to drive nationally and internationally doing this.
My long history in driving whatever I can get my hands on shows that I am willing to work with whatever I have, to succeed and win.
I have been in the background working as a race car builder and mechanic for the last few years, to finance my own racing and to keep in the industry. But I am ready to step into the driver’s seat full time. It is no longer good enough that I have this dream, now is the time for me to make it a reality.
While I do want to develop a national and international reputation as a “go-to-guy” for race driver training, car setup, and team based work, I want that to be built on the solid foundation that is my professional racing career. With my performance being my reputation and credentials for doing everything else.
