Michael Mugrage Cancer Fund

On Monday of last week (10/30/2017) Michael Mugrage, a vibrant and insanely gifted 15 year old boy, fell incredibly ill at school. His lung collapsed and he was rushed to Savannah Children’s Memorial Hospital. We fast forward a week and now know that a tumor was pressing upon Michael’s diaphragm, likely resulting in the collapse of his lung. Unfortunately this is the where the story begins. Michael’s mother, my dear friend, Jessica Mugrage, has been told that he has a rare form of sarcoma...a cancer that has begun to spread, to an extent that still remains unknown. I am personally connected to this family. He lives a few doors away from us. I sold them their home, and my 15 year old child is one of his few friends, as they are newly relocated to the area from Hawaii. I can personally vouch for the need that this family is experiencing. His mother Jessica was a successful realtor in Hawaii who is now new to the industry here and, as such, has already been struggling to make ends meet as a furniture salesperson at Haverty’s. She is a single mom with two truly exceptional boys and the future emotional and financial burden that she faces with this newfound diagnosis for her son is too heart wrenching for me to imagine. Our community is so amazing and I, along with my four children,  personally experienced this after the sudden loss of my husband last year. As a community , I am pleading that we rise up together and help Michael, his mother, Jessica, and sweet little brother Matthew right now in an effort to ease their financial burden so that they are able to focus on his recovery. His prognosis is not good and is truly a nightmare for any parent. Pray, give deeply, and please share...the costs of his care will far surpass what any parent, especially Jessica at the moment, could ever bear.  Jessica is my friend and her son is truly a sweet, caring, and very scared child right now.   She is literally living in the hospital in Savannah with him and doing what she can to farm out her sweet younger son Matthew to near strangers so that she can spend as much time as possible with Michael. I will update the moment I know more and continue to do so until this sweet child recovers. Feel free to message me for more information.
