Mike “Hog” Conlogue Stroke Rehab

Our Dad (Hog) has not been able to work since his stroke, and will not be able to in the foreseeable future.  It's been a difficult reality for he and our Mom, Lei, to face as he had always been such a hard worker; but they're moving forward and focusing on  physical therapy and getting Hog approved for State Disability Payments.  Unfortunately, the earliest he will be eligible for payments is February, one year after the debilitating stroke.  

This is a financial hardship for our parents, to say the least.  They've been surviving only on Lei's income for the last six months, and they've exhausted any savings or resources they may have had.  I know they hate to rely on family and friends, but getting them over this hump into February will mean the world to them.  

All of our friends and family have been so incredibly generous and kind;  we can't say enough how appreciated the donations and emotional support have been.  The kindness has made my Momma, Lei, cry many times over, and helped Hog's mental recovery more than I think we realize.  So, we love everyone and wouldn't have made it this year without you; financially, emotionally or mentally.

Stephanie, Lei, Eric, Andrea, Mike, Sam, Jude and Baby Mia can't begin to say how humbled we are to ask for and receive such amazing help.

I think everyone was surprised to learn that the super softball stud, tall and lean, invincible Mike "Hog" Conlogue had a series of strokes.  Our Dad, and Lei's husband, has limited use of the left side of his body and is unable to work.  He's in serious need of physical rehabilitation and surgery to prevent further life threatening strokes, so we're reaching out to our community of family and friends for help. 

We know Lei's warmth, laughter and hospitality have had a far reach in the community, and she's always been there for so many people.  We're asking for that love to be returned, and we appreciate all the support.  

Having been left with only Lei's income, we're trying to help keep them going until either Mike has recovered enough to return to work, or it's been determined that he can qualify for disability which could take more than a year.  We immensely hope that he will be able to improve with physical therapy, and return to the life he had before.    Funds will be used to pay medical bills and support their household, as they've lost more than half of their income, suddenly.
