Move Mountains 4 Michael Gilbert

Michael Gilbert is a loving Husband, Father of 5 and Grandfather of 2.  In 2016, Michael was diagnosed with Cancer of the tongue.  He had Surgery and treatment and went into remission in February of 2017.  

Several months ago, his Mother became ill with Cancer.  Michael began caring for her and traveling back and forth to Georgia but he wasn't feeling his best.  He went back to the Doctor for additional testing and unfortunately was given the news that the Cancer had returned and he had two tumors in his Cerebellum.  In August  2017, Michael had surgery to remove one of the tumors but the other one could not be removed because it was too deep to resect.  During his time in the hospital Michael's Mom passed away.

The pathology report came back and it has been confirmed a Lymphoma.  Michael has had a series of other tests including a spinal tap and a Bone Marrow Biopsy.  The latest news we have received as of 9/8/17 is the Cancer has spread to his Lymph Nodes. They are working on a treatment plan which will most likely include Chemo and Radiation but there will be more details to follow.  We will update this page as we get more information from Renee.
