Michael Faria Funeral

I've started this fundraiser for my friend, Ashley Faria for her husband Michael.  They have 3 young children,  a 2 year old son and two  step children but they love him so very much and all of this has been incredibly hard on them hoping that Mike would come back to them.
Ashley and I met on the Traumatic Brain Injury Support Group.  My son was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident and so was her husband so we immediately became fast friends.  I wish I could say that her husband's outcome was as good as my son's but unfortunately, God had other plans.
June 16, 2019 started out like every other day.  Mike was out on his motorcycle and was headed home with flowers for his wife tucked in his jacket.  Someone was pulling into Walmart right in front of him and hit him.  It was the middle of the day, and there were a lot of people around.  People came to his rescue until help arrived.  He was in the fight for his life.
Mike not only had injuries to both sides of his skull and had to have both sides of the bones removed, but he also sustained a brain shift and a brain infection and since his accident he has not been able to awaken.  Ashley had hoped that getting the bones put back in would help his disposition and hopefully allow him to awaken.  Mike has had seizures from the beginning of this situation and although we have all remained hopeful and prayed constantly for him to recover, he has gotten progressively worse.  He was lucky enough to be able to come home in July and be with his wife and children the last few months which are memories they will cherish.
The last couple months have been really hard with issues of him having trouble keeping his feedings down and constantly throwing up  causing the doctors to move the peg site to hopefully improve his quality of life and keep him from aspirating anymore.  He's also been having issues with his blood pressure, heart rate  and oxygen levels.  He just hasn't been able to catch a break.
He ended up back in the hospital again on Tuesday, October 20th and unfortunately, this time, he's not coming home to his family,  he is in the care of hospice until his passing which they tell us will be very soon.
Ashley needs help with funeral expenses.  They had some money saved to buy a house, but when Mike had his accident, she had to use that money for her and the children to live on because, she needed to be with her husband.
Then of course, the pandemic hit and she was out of work and since she owned her own business grooming dogs, she wasn't considered essential so the state shut her down.  So there went the rest of their savings.
She never thought that Mike wasn't going to pull through this, he's young and has so much to live for.  You just never think your husband isn't going to grow old with you.  Til Death do us part has taken on an entirely new meaning.
This is why we are reaching out for help to cover funeral expenses.   Anything you can contribute to help this wonderful and caring family would be greatly appreciated.  Also continue to keep Ashley and their children Ari, Austin and Jax as well as Mike in your prayers and if you could share their story we would really appreciate it.  This is an amazing and loving family who really needs help right now.  Thank you so much for reading their story and for your help.
