October 23, 2017 Update
Michael's journey, has lead to him being admitted into the hospice unit in a Penscola Hospital,  the test trial of immune therapy was stopped by his doctor eariler in the week and now the time has come to keep him comfortable and make everlasting memories to carry with us. His wife Rebecca is at his side along with other family members, but she is missing work and expenses for travel and home expenses will start to add up with no income coming in, and not to mention Michael not having life insurance as well, the smallest donation would be the biggest blessing for this family and if a donation is not possible prayers, and a simple share of this page  would greatly be appreciated.

On October 20,2016 Michael was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma. As he went though test after test it was then found that it was stage 4 and metastasized to his lungs and liver.

December 20,2016 Michael underwent his first surgery to remove the left kidney, along with the 15lb tumor, part of his colon, and the top of his spleen.

After all that he started treatments and had 6 IV chemo treatments and 11 radiation treatments on his hip joints and femur. After this he had a scan and the cancer was found in his vertebrae specifically the C5 and C7. They were both eaten away with cancer.

May 15,2017 Michael had surgery on his neck they took out the C5 and C7 and replaced them with cadaver bones, 13 screws, 2 rods. and 2 plates. 3 weeks later his body rejected the bones and he had to undergo another surgery on his neck. Then another 3 weeks went by and the day he had the stitches removed he was admitted because the incision was draining and was gonna come open again.

Tuesday July 11 a plastic surgeon went in and closed up his back and pulled his skin to where this will not come open again.

Michael will be undergoing radiation treatments and back on chemo when he is all healed up from this last surgery.

Sept 20, 2017 Michael and his wife Rebecca traveled to Birmingham where Michael under went surgery due to  a tumor that had weaken the bone which caused the bone to break, after a few days in  the hospital they returned home for him to heal, and to look at continuing the immune therapy trial in hopes that it would work!
