Michael & Ariana's New School

Dear friends,

 We have been on a crazy roller coaster lately as we’ve been exploring and beginning to establish our visa platform. The news from our business partner has been back and forth, but we signed the registration papers today and can finally let you know:

We’re starting a school!

In American terms, the school we’re starting is for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten age students, but with a little bit of flexibility on ages.

We’re super excited about this for a few reasons:

1. It’s a residence visa from a field I know, love, and belong in. It’ll also allow Michael to animate full time, but still have a residence visa.

2. It’s a solid business idea: A dual-language school will be a draw for locals, and a school run by an expatriate is a draw (and comfort) to the other expatriates in town: it enables both parents to study at the language school when one of them would’ve had to stay home instead.

3. A school builds connections. It means kids I get to love on, families I get to know, and more people we get to share the good news with. It’s the next step for us to take toward our ultimate goal here.




All of that being said, starting a school is big endeavor, and we’re asking you for your partnership on this project. We’re so grateful for the way you’ve partnered with us for our daily lives out here, and we’re hoping that you’ll help us continue to settle and work out here by contributing to this project. We’ve priced out starting business costs and we’re hoping to reach $30,000 in the next three months. It’s a huge ask, we know.
