Michael A. Lipe - Master Guitar Luthier R.I.P.

Mike Lipe, Master Luthier and Co-Founder Ibanez LA Custom Shop, suddenly passed away from mesothelioma a couple of days after Christmas. It was a shock to the medical staff and family as to the aggressive nature of cancer.
Mike had the ability to relate to a diverse group of people due to his openness and kindness to all. He approached life with compassion and forgiveness which allowed him the benefits of compelling life experiences.
Mike served in the Vietnam War. We thank him for his service to the country.
Mike is well known for his work as a Master Luthier at Ibanez. Where he created and built guitars for some of the greatest guitarists and bassists. The list of artist Mike has worked is very long including icons such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Carlos Santana, Randy Rhodes and many more. Having built and repaired guitars for these great artists, Mike possessed the virtue of humility not to name drop.
Mike's passion in life was to make wonderful custom guitars by hand. He started making guitars under his own name Lipe Guitars USA but as with all artist, it was a hard road to get recognized. He would go to great lengths to ensure that each guitarist was happy with the guitar. His talents will be missed.
Unfortunately, Like many artists. Mike did not get to reap the fruits of his labor so there no funds to tap into to pay for all the expenses.
Any donations will be appreciated to help his daughter with current and upcoming expenses. Such as Memorial, Lawyers, CPA, Flowers, decorations for Celebration of Life, Memorial cards. Death Certificates, etc.
