Micah Anderson’s Fight against Cancer

A dear friend and beloved member of our community has received devastating news. Micah Anderson was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer. In a small town like Trout Lake, when one member of the community suffers, it is like a member of your own family is suffering. That is why I am starting this gofundme so that the local community and the world at large can easily help Micah and his family through this time of extreme hardship.

Micah is, undoubtedly, the kindest, gentlest, and most patient man I have ever met. Micah is utterly committed to serving the Lord, as well as his beautiful family. He adores his wife, Carissa, and absolutely loves his four beautiful children: Trinity, Eden, Violet, and Nevaeh, who range in age from six to thirteen. He loves to hike, ski, and play games of any kind. He is extremely active, and I know that he cannot wait until he is able to return to his usual, active lifestyle, as well as being able to fully provide for his family. As in his personal life, Micah’s professional life has been committed to serving others. He works as a camp director for Camp Jonah, as well as drives school bus for the Trout Lake School. My guess is that he has had a positive impact on your child, niece, nephew, grandchild or somebody you know during his work as a camp counselor/director or while driving school bus.

Whether you know Micah as an outdoor adventurer, a camp director, or a school bus driver, you cannot know him without seeing what he does for all of those around him in his life on a daily basis. Now is the time that we must return the favor, and help this wonderful family in a time of need.

Micah’s insurance is minimal, meaning that he and his family will be faced with crippling medical bills in the immediate future. Furthermore, they are currently awaiting blood tests to find out if the cancer has spread. In the best case scenario, Micah’s blood test will come back negative and he will continue testing for five years. We all hope and pray that this will be the scenario. However, if the test comes back positive he will have even more financial hardship during his treatment.  The costs will be a huge burden for Micah and his family for the foreseeable future. Therefore, we ask that anyone who is able, donate whatever they can. No amount is too great or small, and all will be greatly appreciated by Micah, his family, and all of those who know and cherish him.
