Mica Lerma's Funeral and Medical Expenses

Our beloved Micaela Lerma left this world on September 23 while battling a long hard fight waiting for organ transplant surgery.

Mica was a lover of all things. She cherished her family and friends, all the animals (especially her dog Bandito), music, art, cooking, and of course, her Oakland A’s. She lived life with as much vitality as the bright colors she surrounded herself with.

In her 39 years, she was a loving daughter, sister, tia (auntie), cousin, niece, friend and neighbor. Everyone who met Mica instantly fell in love with her beautiful glow and spirit; her smile and laughter were infectious. She treated everyone she met with a kindness and warm heart that only saints could match. She would do anything for anyone if they needed help, from last-minute babysitting (BEST nanny in town), listening to friends cry and vent, to playing midnight chef for her friends (incredible cook), and planning the next big bash. She was never embarrassed to have fun and make sure those around her had just as good of a time as her. Her loyalty to those she loved was indescribable. With this love of life, she also deeply felt others' sadness and grief when someone was hurting and did everything in her power to keep others from feeling that same hurt.

Mica had the biggest heart in Oakland and beyond. Her creativity, thoughtfulness, joy, sense of humor, loyalty and dedication to the people in her life and community made this world a better place and will be missed by all who knew her.

We have created this fundraiser to help the Lerma family with all funeral expenses, medical expenses and any other expenses they come across during this unimaginably difficult time.

The memorial service will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland on Piedmont Ave on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 4pm. The family has asked everyone to wear bright colors or Oakland A’s gear to represent the vitality that was Micaela.

There will be a gathering at her parent's home after the memorial for anyone who wants to come by. Details will be given at that time.

We look forward to gathering together to celebrate all that was Micaela.
