On 3rd May 2026, I’ll be running my first ever half marathon in support of British Heart Foundation in memory of my uncle John.  Heart and circulatory disease has had a devastating impact on my family especially in the past few years. In December 2024, my amazing uncle John unexpectedly passed away from a heart attack, ten years earlier, in December 2014, I lost my grandad Don to heart disease, and in 2023 we also lost my grandad Bill to heart failure. So I’m doing this for them! Heart and circulatory diseases affect millions of people across the UK and remain one of the leading causes of death. Many conditions develop silently, without obvious symptoms, meaning they’re often only discovered when it’s too late. The charity funds life-saving research into:
  •	early detection of heart conditions
  •	better and more effective treatments  •	prevention strategies to protect future generations
 Thanks to this research, thousands of families have already been given more time, better care, and hope for the future.
