Jr Year Required Study Abroad at Oxford!

Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Mia Richardson, I am an honors political science and philosophy major and I am looking for some help from my community to make an important academic opportunity possible.
I was born and raised in Wyandotte County where I attended Sumner Academy of Arts and Science. In 2012 I graduated Summa Cum Laude with an International Baccalaureate diploma in addition to my Kansas high school diploma. In order to successfully complete the International Baccalaureate program I completed over 150 hours of community service among other requirements.
After graduation I came to William Jewell College in Liberty,MO where I was recruited to apply for the Oxbridge Honors Program based on my high school accomplishments. After successfully completing the written and oral interview process for the program I was given the chance to take the Honors introduction seminar and after passing that class I officially became a member of the Honors Program. This program has many notable features such as one-on-one tutorial style classes and extreme academic rigor, but the most important aspect of the program is that during their junior year Oxbridge students are required to study abroad at Oxford University in England for the entire year provided that they are able to get accepted. I have been working diligently this year to make my way through the application process and I was recently notified that I have been accepted to study at Oxford for the full year.
William Jewell is a wonderful school and they are doing all that they can to make my study abroad experience possible, but I am currently faced with a large budget deficit due to the higher costs of living in England as well as to William Jewell's inability to continue one of my main scholarships while I am abroad. At home at Jewell I receive a substantial scholarship for Parliamentary Debate. This year our team was the winner of the 2014 National Parliamentary Debate Association's national tournament. Because I will not be able to debate next year I will not be able to receive this scholarship while I am gone.
As of now I need to raise at least $9,000 by late August 2014 in order to make my year at Oxford possible. This money will cover costs ranging from remaining tuition to food and transport to and from campus during my time abroad. While I and my family both plan to work and save money over the summer we will need a little bit of extra help to really make this opportunity possible. If I cannot get the funds together to complete my time at Oxford I will not be able to graduate with the honors degree that I have been working on for two years. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and every little bit really does help! Advice is also very helpful, if you know of a person or organization that might be interested in helping me out or if you have any other comments you can contact me on this website and I will be sure to respond.
Thank you all!
