Miami I-95 crash victim-Alina Ghani

On Friday August 31st, 2018 around 1 am, one of Miami’s busiest highway suffered a mass casualty. A bunch of good samaritans  pulled over on the side of the highway to help a motorcyclist who had crashed in front of their eyes. Not knowing what a dangerous situation they had put themselves in but only had the intention of saving this motorcyclist’s life. One of those brave Samaritans was my baby cousin. The youngest and bravest soul, ALINA GHANI, age 21, had put her life on the line to help someone else’s .  Moments later a 42 year old man under the influence of alcohol, Lionel Orrego, ran my baby cousin and few others over with his van. That was her last day in this world. She died on the spot. My uncle’s only child whom he had to fulfil both a mother’s and fathers role. His whole life was her. Alina was everything to him.  He left Pakistan when Alina was just only 2, to take her away from all the violence and to bring her to a country where he could give her a good life. Today that country took the only thing he lived for. What him and our family is going through is too hard to imagine.  Alina was a very special child in our whole family and was loved by many. She had the most kindest and caring heart you could ever come across. She was a free spirit. Always laughing and making others laugh around her. It is so hard to imagine she is no longer with us. She died trying to help someone else. This fundraiser is in the memory of Alina Ghani and the funds raised are to help her father through this tough time. She did her part by stepping out of the vehicle to help someone else, now it’s our job to do our part. Anything helps, please share with your family and friends.
