Mia's Liver surgery

Donation protected
As some of you know I adopted Mia back in May at 11 weeks old knowing she was diagnosed with an Intrahepatic liver shunt which would need surgery for her to live a long healthy life.  I have already spent well over $1,000 on vet visits and consultations for her and have found that she will need to go to the University of Pennsylvania to have the surgery done as they are the closest facility that has the needed equipment to perform her surgery.  She will have inter ventral radiology and placement of a coil to occlude the shunt ( that is off of her paperwork) Dr Sadanaga said basically she will have a catheter put into her leg and it will go up into the liver where they will place a coil that should close off the shunt and allow her liver to grow bigger.  He said at this point she has a very small liver and all the bile acid, ammonia and other contaminants are skipping the liver and going right into her heart and being pumped through out her body.  She takes medications that have helped her to this point and has to be on a low protein diet but still on occasion throws up blood and food and is lethargic and "zones out".   Those who have already met Miss Mia know what a special girl she is.  She absolutely loves everyone she meets.  She is a social butterfly and cannot get enough attention when we are out and about.  She deserves a long happy and healthy life and  I want to give that to her.  I just need a little help with the cost of the surgery.  The surgery alone at the University is estimated to be $5,600, not including the initial consult there or anything else that may arise or testing that might need to be done.  We would greatly appreciate any help with the cost of this.    Her consult is now scheduled for September 12 and the surgery will be scheduled at that time.  Mia is so loved and me and her doggie brothers and sisters.  We need her to get better so she can be with us for a very long time!  I will be forever thankful to anyone who can help us get her this surgery <3  And for those that cannot afford to donate we would still appreciate healing thoughts and prayers for my precious girl.  Thank you!
