Hello anyone taking the time to read our story! I'd like to start out by saying THANK YOU! This campaign is all about helping my wife Natasha and I fund In Vitro Fertilization.
Natasha and I have been together since 2004 when we were both 19. We were married in May 2009, and have been trying to have a baby ever since. After about two years of trying naturally, we realized that we we having a problem. We went to multiple doctors and fertility specialists, and they could not explain why were were not able to get pregnant. We tried several months of Clomid (a fertility drug), IUI (Intrauterine insemination), and other strategies.
Finally, about a year ago, we found a new specialist. We went to him, and he told told us that he thought it was endometriosis. This was strange to us because Natasha had never shown any of the symptoms. He was fairly confident, but said we couldn't be sure without a procedure to clear the endometriosis (you can't check without going in, and once in, they can try to clean it out.) It turns out that Natasha does have endometriosis, and one of the worst cases the doctor had ever seen. He told us that he was able to clean out about 85%, and gave us six months to try naturally. It has now been 11 months, and not even a maybe.
The doctor did, however, say that there is nothing wrong with Natasha's eggs, and I had already been tested as well. The problem is simply that the egg cannot get fertilized. The doctor said that when the egg comes through the fallopian tube, it falls into a pool of fluid. That fluid then puts a hard shell (he described it as chocolate dipping an ice cream cone......hopefully that doesn't ruin your favorite treat!) around the egg, and does not allow the sperm to penetrate.
He told us that we seem to be great candidates for IVF! He thinks (though of course there are no guarantees) there will be no issue once we attempt the IVF, but in case you did not know, it is EXPENSIVE. Our insurance does not cover any infertility expenses, so everything that we have done to this point has been out of pocket.
We would greatly appreciate any help that you could give us. We are devoted followers of Christ, and know that He provides in a number of ways. We were apprehensive about asking for help, but it would take us months or even years to save this amount on our own. We are very thankful for any help that you can give us, both prayerfully and financially.
