Hello everyone. This is a story that will warm your heart.
We all have that one friend that you can count on no matter what. That has stood up for you, or stood beside you during your toughest or happiest times. That protects you at whatever the cost and all they ask in return is your friendship. To many of us, that friend is Rob. After battling Diabetes for a number of years it has unfortunately gotten the better of him and his kidneys are beginning to fail him. For a long time now he has been going through treatments and dialasis which have only done so much. Rob has been on a waiting list for a new kidney for a while now with very little hope in sight. It is pretty fitting that the hope came from the Henry high school reunion in the form of one of Rob's oldest friends Jason. It is emotional when you think how big Rob was the one who was always there for Jay so that the bigger guys (or girls) didn't bully him and now it is Jay who is protecting Rob from this horrible disease. Jason is a rare friend in many ways; selfless, loyal, fiercely protective of his friends and thankfully a rare blood type also. Jason is donating one of his kidneys, on behalf of Rob, to someone that is on a waiting list for the rare kidney. This mean that beacuse Jason is donating his kidney, Rob gets a new kidney and a chance to live and be with his sister and family for a long time.
We are raising money to help Rob as he is off work and recovering from this life saving surgery.
Surgery takes place on April 25 2016.
And we know that everyone is hoping and praying for a speedy recovery.
