Help Natalie fight breast cancer!

Donation protected
Hi, we're Rosie (Natalie's friend and colleague) and Sarick (Natalie's spouse). Natalie Taber was recently diagnosed with breast cancer on March 10, 2023, and things are moving fast. She will have surgery on April 5 and then has a recuperation period before the next steps of cancer treatment. There are many unknowns and we are asking for your help in navigating this journey.

One of Natalie’s strongest beliefs is that people can heal, that solace can be found, and that it does not always have to be a fight. This core belief has already helped her survive a lot in this world and makes her a remarkable therapist. She brings this core belief to her work where, as a licensed clinical social worker, she specializes and excels in providing psychotherapy to people who have experienced complex childhood trauma, and bi-cultural/mixed-race experiences.

Natalie depends on her work to pay her bills and she does not have the kind of benefits that will cover expenses while she takes off work for doctors’ appointments, to recuperate after surgery, and to undergo chemo and radiation. This is where we can help the most by raising money so she can focus on healing her body.

Natalie is not alone in the world. She is a newlywed and has two children who depend on her. Her husband Sarick is a postdoc researcher and Natalie is the main provider for their family at this point. As any mother does, she worries about being there for her family as a newly diagnosed cancer patient. She wants to make sure that she can continue to provide for them. We can help with that by making sure she has enough money to cover the bills while she is not able to work. As her daughter says, “Anyone who knows her knows how much she has been through in her life. She spends most of her time working and caring for the ones around her, me, my little brother (age 10), and her clients. My mom is a fulltime therapist and works extra hours at the hospital and teaching at the University of Minnesota. Due to treatment she is going to have to take a lot of time off work. With her job she does not make a salary and there is no paid time off. I love my mom and would like for her to not have to worry so much about taking care of us so she can take care of herself and get through this so she can be here for us. Thank you so much!”

Natalie is vital to her family and mental health community. She is in the business of helping others heal, let’s help her heal by providing support, so that she can continue her work, which is helping others heal and so she can be there for her family.
