Cancer: Help Keep Bailey Smiling!!

Donation protected
Bailey loves all things water!  I think if she had a life slogan it would be Swim, Hike, Run.  She is always wearing a big smile and is almost always carrying a Glow-in-the-Dark ball in her mouth ready for adventure.  She trains for races with me, loves car rides, goes on work trips with me, is a frisbee fanatic, and is also the favorite play buddy of all the neighborhood kids.  She's pretty awesome and she's my baby.

Bailey was diagnosed with a very aggressive kind of cancer 4 days before Christmas, and she got really, really sick, so sick that I almost lost her. The type of cancer is Apocrine Gland Adenocarcinoma of the Anal Sac and tends to spread quickly to the lymph nodes and lungs.

In a matter of weeks, I had to spend a ton of money on Vet visits, ER Visits, Fluids, Meds, Cancer Center Doctors, CT Scans, 2 Biopsies, Emergency Overnights, Seizure Meds that resulted from complications, and then the Cancer Surgery to remove the internal Tumor.  This cost really was just to keep her alive during that time.  It was really traumatic, but I had to do it.

I thought that they had got all the cancer with the surgery, but on Friday 2/13/15, her Radiologist and Internist told me that she needs 21 ROUNDS of RADIATION to kill the cancer cells that are remaining at the site, and typically come back with a vengence and will kill dogs in typically 6 months.  Then on 2/18/15 I met with the Senior Radiologist at VSNT in Dallas, and he said that he also wants to add 6 MONTHS OF CHEMO to keep it from spreading to any organs.  And they want to start this treatment right away.

The Good News:
Is that the doctors said she's the best case scenario since they caught it so early and they fully expect her to live out her full years and have GREAT QUALITY OF LIFE with BOTH treatments.  She's 8 1/2 years old, and they said she should make it until 13 years based on her otherwise excellent health, so I could get another 4 years with my puppy which would be amazing!!!

The Not-So-Good News:
I already spent a lot which was immediately necessary and I resigned to be OK with that, but now they are telling me the next step of Radiation and Chemo is going to cost an additional $9900 which is sooooo much money... If I dont, they said she'll be gone within the year.  So I really want to do both treatments, and I can't do it alone.

So all my sweet friends are telling me to share Miss Bailey's story and her need on Go Fund Me.  So if you feel compelled to help out my sweet girl, I'd really, really appreciate your Donation!!  Any amount that you'd be willing to give would be so incredibly kind and helpful and it would go straight to her Radiation Bills that start in a couple weeks.  I'm not on Facebook, so getting the word out is challenging, so I'm relying on you my friends and family to help out.

I know it's a lot of money, but my commitment to you is that if I somehow raise more money than the $9900, I promise that I will Re-Donate 100% of any balance back into the needs of others on the Go Fund Me website.  Since your gift and heart is toward dogs needing cancer treatment, I will specifically look for dog families in the area with the same need.  You have my promise.

Thanks for reading Bailey's story and thank you for being willing to consider giving to her Treatment so that I can enjoy many more years and smiles with my favorite buddy.
