The Allen's Fund - Breathing Space

You know those people who help?  They just help?  They don't ask "do you need anything?", "what can I do for you?" .  They. Just. Help.

I know those people.  Actually I'm blessed to know lots of these people.    And right now, 2 of them need help.

They won't ask.
I will offer what I can.

Their lives are on 'HOLD', their jobs are on 'HOLD', their housing situation is even on hold because of a sequence of events which could happen to anyone of us.

Katie and Craig Allen - The HELPFUL people, need our help so they can breathe and take time to assess and meet their families needs.

When baby Moss was born, we didn't feel sad for him, or Katie and Craig, because we knew Moss had the best parents in the world for him.  To ensure he reaches his full potential.  And the best big Brothers, Bodhi and Tully, to mentor and guide him through life.  At most we feared for his health, we worried about the unaswered questions, the what's wrong?, the will he be strong?....

Moss is still undergoing full diagnosis and probably will be for quite a while, his health is stable, and his future will be full of therapy and early learning intervention - everything every child needs to be the best that they can be.

Craig had put his job aside, to support Katie in her career, stepping from the full time Mother-Ever-Present role, back into the classroom, in a Special School environment,  in a new Town setting them up in the best possible way, to support Moss.

Then the weekend before the removalist trucks were due to arrive the unimaginable happend.  SUNDAY 8TH FEB. 2015.

Picture it: Kids, playing, laughing and enjoying their peers company, living the dream, at a birthday party.  When a motorbike, SLAMS into Moss's big brother Bodhi - just 9 years old.

Yeah, scarey stuff.  All you parents out there, will know what I'm saying.  Life gets put on hold.   There is nothing more valuable than your kids.

Katie and Craig - supported me.  No questions asked. And I've seen them support others.  They care, and not just on the local level, they care about their community as a whole, and globally.

I'm not asking for much for Katie and Craig.

Just space so they can focus on what's important, they don't need to be worrying about $ right now.  They have surgeries (3 of which have gone really well already, and Bodhi is only 7 days into this journey), they have rehabilitation, and therapy.  And this is just for Bodhi.   They still have Moss's on going needs to meet, therapists and doctors, travel, accommodation.  And they still have Tully, their other son.  Families need to be together, they need not to worry about food on the table, fuel for the travel, and accommodation to be together at times like this.

So if you are in a position to help this family breathe when they need it most.  Please do.

They won't ask.
I will offer what I can.

Thank you in advance.
