MGSD Student Electrocuted Walking Home

On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at approximately 3:45pm, Andrew, a Mooresville Middle School Student, was walking on private property adjacent to Mooresville Intermediate School and made contact with powered electrical lines downed by the recent storms. According to the Charlotte Observer, “The student was transported by EMS to the hospital. The student was conscious at the time of transport. Please keep this student and family in your thoughts.”

 

Drew has since been transferred to the PICU at Wake Forest Baptist Burn Center where he underwent surgery to reduce the swelling in his side, arm and hand. He is in stable condition but has 3rd degree burns over 30% of his body and is scheduled to have 5 surgeries in the next two weeks. Drew will be in the PICU for the foreseeable future. The family will be at the hospital for a minimum of 4 weeks.

 

Drew's mother is an employee of Mooresville Graded School District. His sister is also a student of ours. Please help the Mooresville Community raise funds for this family.
