Mfon and Jayden recover from water damages

Mfon and Jayden are young adults, and roommates, who just got their first apartment on their own. Mfon is a recent graduate of UT, and Jayden is a senior at the same school. The apartment in question had a lot of issues from the beginning, but through all the problems they both endured and finally got to a place where they finally started to feel more settled. Both starting with air mattresses to finally buying new couches, coffee tables, and kitchen, dining, and bedroom funiture; things were slowing shaping for the better. Until on December 28th, Mfon came back from holidays with her family to find her find entire apartment was destroyed by pipe bursting from the apartment above.

The apartment was completely damaged with the roof concaved and fallen down in the living room, dining and partially in Jayden's room. The entire space was full of water as fans and a humidifier was set up already in the apartment. But the management never informed them of any pipes bursting. No email, call, or even a text.

Many of the furniture and items of Jayden and Mfon's where either completely damaged and/or ruined and the space is unlivable.

The apartment complex hasn't offered any options to release us from the lease, nor are they offering compensation for the damage to our items. The recent change in management has further complicated this issue.

We are hoping that this GoFundMe will help us to pay for the cost of replacing our items and covering expenses since we've been put out of our apartment.
