Hello, my name is Claudia  born and raised in Mexico City.  And currently living in California.
On September 19, 1985 the biggest earthquake to hit Mexico City was recorded at 8.0 strength.  With aftershocks as high as 7.5, the devastation was indescribable. I was there, my whole family helped move rocks around to dig up the wounded and the dead.  I remember trying to move as fast as we could because we knew time was against us. The feeling when you heard people asking for your help  is that of desperation, the memory of the family memebers trying to find loved ones was so sad, I felt I wasn’t doing enough. It didn’t matter who you where, we helped anyone. I wanted to make a difference.

On September 19, 2017 exactly on the anniversary date of the 1985 earthquake an earthquake in the magnitude of 7.1 rumbled the City of Mexico once again and the outcome was terrible.

The city was severely devastated and has left many people without power and water. Resources are very scarce and people are trying to find ways to help the wounded.

Israel, Chile, Panama and the US so far are sending crews to help dig the trapped and wounded in the City of Mexico.

I have set up this page in the hopes we can help the other local communities that are in the outskirts of Mexico City. Those smaller more impoverished areas, the areas affected as bad but treated as secondary emergency.
Because time is of the essence the money is sent directly to trustworthy people that are getting their hands dirty and getting the job done. I myself send the funds directly and I receive updates, which I post as I receive them.

How this funds are and will be used:

Mexico City:

****** My niece’s school Enrique Rebsamen; is the school that collapsed and its seen all over the news. As of today they have found 22 children dead and 5 adults dead. Needless to say close friends of my niece have passed away.
This school has much work to be done and the rescue teams are working hard. My niece and fiancé are helping to dig out any survivors as well as provide much needed items to continue the search efforts; they need water, medical supplies, blankets, food. No vehicle gets through anywhere so they use shopping carts to get through the city with supplies. Amongst items needed are batteries, flash lights, mouth covers, short handle shovels, first aid kits, medical supplies, heavy use tools, chain saws, oils, batteries, cleaning supplies, tarps.
We are trying to provide small bags of candy for kids that are waiting with family members to hear from their loved ones. Words of encouragement and love are written on the bags.

Toluca, Tenancingo, Malinalco and Puebla.
*****In need of medical supplies, shovels, blankets, water, food.

My sisters are gathering to make food for wounded and rescuers, they also will provide water, blankets, batteries.
So far we are working with 3 hospitals in the Toluca area. One of the hospitals is a children's hospital.
One of my sisters who is a nurse has collected some medical supplies but more is needed.

I can tell you first hand that it was nerve wracking to wait for hours in the hopes you can hear from your loved ones. And Im greatful my family is ok.

I myself would have been there once more today to pick up rocks and tend to the wounded, but I know if I can’t be there to do this, then financial aid to people I trust to get the job done, is the next best thing.

This money is not tax deductible, I’m so sorry, I wish it was. But I hope this does not stop you from helping those in dire need; anything helps.

If you wish you can also donate to the Red Cross and the LA Firefighters.

Remember the prayers of the righteous avail as much.

Your prayers are as important and anything else.

Thank you, and may God bless you.
