Resupply Run for First Responders @ Mexico Beach, FL Hurricane Michael Disaster

Thanks for looking at my GoFundMe site.  The goal of this fundraiser is to deliver a pickup truck load (possibly trailer) with critical supplies (wipes, sanitary, powdered drink mixes, work gloves, toiletries, and specialty and comfort items) for First Responders working the devastation at Mexico Beach, FL which was completely destroyed by hurricane Michael on October 10, 2018.

In addition, we will be bringing a high-capacity mobile charging station (for phones) and satellite uplink to provide Wi-Fi for several days for First Responders and citizens to make contact with friends and loved ones.

Why am I doing this craziness? I grew up as a kid summering in Mexico Beach and spending holidays with my Grandma and Grandpa.  The El Governor hotel you may have heard about in the news was right next door.  Everything is gone now.  Now it’s time to go camping on the beach where my Grandma’s house once stood before Opal took it out in 1995.  This is the least I can do to give back to Mexico Beach and those helping others.

Y’all know I’m well-equipped and know what I’m doing ; ) Robyn, world champion fundraiser, will be running the $ side of the house, so the money is in good hands.  I have more important things to do. Lastly, I’ll be accompanied by my old friend Thorin Blanco, who is riding shotgun with me on this mission.

The plan is to leave on or about October 18 and spend several days on site, providing assistance and resupply.  The faster we hit our funding goal, the quicker we can leave. Funds will also cover transportation expenses.

Any additional funds will be used to provide supplies directly to the Louisiana Cajun Navy, LLC, c/o Clyde Cain, CEO.  The Cajun Navy was in Mexico Beach as of Saturday the 13th.

If anyone has a small Honda/Yamaha quiet generator can I borrow it?  Mine takes up too much room.
