Education is KEY for children in Mexico
Hello, my name is Wanda, I am a Canadian living in Mexico and it has been my privilege to work with less advantaged working families living in Riviera Maya, Mexico. We encourage you to help these beautiful children and allow them to DREAM. Help them to learn English to ensure a more secure future for themselves and their families.
Casa de Oportunidad (House of Opportunity) is involved in an amazing effort that deserves our Immediate Attention and Financial Support! We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for less advantaged working families. We provide School Sponsorship, assist with basic needs (food & clothing) and help with English learning.
This is an effort to help raise enough money to open the doors to a long awaited and Much Needed OUTREACH CENTRE. The ¨Centre¨ is a place to provide a safe, fun, loving environment for the kids to come after school to practice their English, do homework and play new educational games.
During the past 5 years, we have worked out of the back of our vehicle; distributing school supplies, clothes and food. The English classes have been on the side of the street or in a local plaza or park bench.
We have been able to share donations, create awareness and share some meals, however, the NEED for a HOME - a physical school location is greatly required NOW.
Any donation no matter the size will help get one step closer to completing this project.
Total cost for this project is only $24,900 USD.
When the fundraising goal is reached it will cover the start-up expenses for the Centre as well as secure one year operational expenses. This will allow for continued success by ensuring longevity and able to have a greater outreach.
Funds raised will be used in the following way:
Rent, Electricity, Legal, Staff and School Supplies
We are currently working with approx. 20 children, but we would expect to double the number of children with YOUR HELP!
