Beach Burrito familia, we need your help!
We are excited to announce our campaign to share some love with our AMAZING healthcare workers in this huge time of need.
It’s simple, you donate any spare dollars you can, and we provide Mexican for the Medics.
There is nothing more humanitarian than the need to FEED people! Something we have a lot of experience doing (14yrs and counting) and like to think we aren’t too bad at it!
After all, our motto is “feeding culture since 2006”
14yrs ago Blake and I started Beach Burrito Company in Bondi, maybe you know of it? Since then we have grown to 10 restaurants employing (until recently!!) over 200 people. The current events have made it vital that we innovate and look for ways to stay viable until things turn around. Community and giving back are in BBC's DNA, so we have come up with this idea...
As we all know, healthcare & frontline workers are overworked & understaffed. Racing from work to home and back again, they will struggle to find the time to cook proper meals for themselves. To make matters worse, many hospital cafeterias have closed, leaving hospital staff now working hungry. These people are putting their lives on the line, and we feel compelled to help.
Unfortunately, we have also taken a massive hit, and sadly had to severely reduce our family of employees, due to the huge decline in sales. Hopefully through this program we can keep giving back, keep our business alive, keep our doors open, keep our employees working AND fuel our healthcare worker SUPERHEROES on the frontline!!
Our superpower is feeding legends across Sydney and other glorious parts of Australia – with restaurants in 5 areas of Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide & Newcastle. We are fired up & committed to feeding as many healthcare workers as possible at the following hospitals:
-John Hunter hospital Newcastle
-RPA hospital Camperdown
-Prince of Wales hospital Randwick
-Sutherland hospital Sutherland
-Royal Adelaide hospital
This is where YOU come in - please donate anything you can – any size donation will help!!
We are committed to feeding people in 3 ways:
-Delivering $12 burritos direct to the hospitals
-Making $12 burritos or $3 tacos for healthcare workers to pick up from Beach Burrito Co.
-Providing gift cards for healthcare workers to buy burritos, tacos or a well deserved margarita after work outside hours.
-Burritos are a complete meal, requiring no cutlery, and can be 'eaten on the go'. They are a fresh, healthy, protein filled meal - perfect for tired, time poor healthcare workers.
The World Health Organisation has set the benchmark for optimal nutrition and well-being during this crisis. Nutrition is the baseline for optimal health and immunity.
-We will provide zero contact direct delivery to the hospitals listed above, limiting contact, with no third party involved.
-If you'd like your donation to go towards a meal for a specific hospital or healthcare worker, tell us in your comment in detail, and we'll make it happen.
It's terrifying to think, but we will all know someone affected by COVID-19 eventually and will all need
these healthcare heroes to look after us.
We are committed to feeding as many people as we can.
