Madagascar Marine Conservation Volunteer Program

Hi, my name is Nyasha I am fundraising to go out to Madagascar summer of 2024 to volunteer on a marine conservation program. I will be participating on the program's held by International Volunteer HQ on the islands Nosey Be and Nosey Komba, in the north of the country. I will be walking about 50 miles of the Pennine Way, from Bowes to Gargrave, in April to help me fundraise, all weather dependent. This is the circumference of Nosey Be, and I will be aiming to walk this in 2-3 days.

I am going on to study marine biology and oceanography in September 2024. I have always had a passion for the outdoors and sustainability. I think community development and education is an invaluable tool in the fight against global warming and the loss of habitats that support the wonders of our planet. Nosey Be and Komba offer community development and marine conservation programs where I will get the chance to help the local and wider community. I grew up in Mozambique and recently when on a solo trip back there, this reignited my dream of wanting to visit Madagascar. I think this experience will be a perfect opportunity to experience a new culture, while gaining experience which will aid my studies. I hope I can give something back too the country as I have the privilege of being able to visit it. The money that I raise will go towards the costs of the programs that International Volunteer HQ offers. These are the costs of insurances, food, accommodation and equipment. I will be covering the costs of flights and any other admin fees. I would like to go out to Madagascar for around 3 months, from the United Kingdom.
