MeToWe Volunteer Trip to Udaipur

Hello, my name is Aidan Gupta and this summer I am looking for your help to send me to Udaipur, India where I will be spending 18 days volunteering with the Me-to-We organization and participating in their clean water development project.

Me to We is an organization whose mission is to inspire people to take action and create change to better any and all injustices. This organization works in conjunction with We Charity, a charity that aids poverty stricken communities all around the world. Me to We provides unique opportunities that allow both youth and adults to participate in health, education and economic development projects around the world. While Me to We provides a organizational infrastructure and a safe environment for their volunteers, they do not provide any part of the funding for the actual trip.

For those of you who can appreciate a few statistics, approximately 77 million people in India lack access to clean water and 58 percent of India’s population of 1.2 billion sits below the poverty line. Every year, about 600,000 Indian children die of diarrhea or pneumonia, often caused by consuming toxic water. The unfortunate reality for most Indian citizens is that reliable clean water is a luxury that most cannot afford. I aim to do my part to change this.

I am hoping to travel to Udaipur, a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, where I will be helping with the construction of WeCharity’s clean water project, a solution to just a piece of a massive problem. With the help of organizations like Me to We and the work of volunteers, millions of people around the world have already been able to access the basic needs that all people deserve. But these millions are still but a fraction of the people who need our help. These people lack not a solution, but the support, of those of us who can afford to give.

And so, I am asking that you help send me to India to assist on your behalf, so that we can support people who so desperately need our help. I would be incredibly appreciative for your support of this cause, and sharing my passion to bring to change to the lives of the people who need it most.
