My name is Karla Mi Lugo. I am an artist that has been working as a self employed street performer and traveling artist for the past 4 years. As of recently I have been enduring a health opportunity, and in going through this, I have realized that I can no longer continue on the same path, with the same philosphy or attitude. I must change, expand and evolve as an artist, and in order to do this, I am going to need much disipline and support.
I am looking for financial support that will cover my living expenses and work wages, so that I may have the opportunity to create a new album, of music, stories, comedy skits and poetry. I will also create a handfull of music videos/ video portraits that will allow to use my music, writing, aesthetic and performance abilities.
My intent for this body of work is to propell myself into a higher maturity as an artist. I will also use this material as relevant work that will aide my application to grants, scholarships, and and artist programs. This opportunity will empower me to hone the dynamic talents I posess, so that I may be of greater use my community and beyond.
The fund contributed to this project with pay for cd production, recordiong equipment (or access to recoding quipment) bills and living expenses and shipping after for the CD and/or other materials to be dispributed duruing and after the project is completed.
