Mesmer Takes On Melanoma, Thrice!

Donation protected
Sharon Mesmer is a super woman. She embodies everything a human being want to be: hardworking, empathetic, funny, tenacious. It always blew my mind how one person can be so many different things to so many people at any given time. And although these are attributes I aspire to take with me, I've also seen the downfalls. It is a sacrifice to give. And the one thing Sharon Mesmer has never been able to be, is carefree.

I've seen my mom work so hard for the things she loves, taken away because of cancer (twice). I've seen the foundation she worked to make concrete for her children crumble after losing her home. I've seen her make heartbreaking decisions like giving up her animals for a better life. I've seen her starve herself, just so she could feed her children. I've seen her health detioriate, her jobs detioriate, her passions detioriate, her hopes detioriate, and her will to give. One of the hardest things a child can here their parent say is, "I hate my life," but I know that it is even harder to say it out loud and mean it. After months of being homeless, all we have is each other, but sadly, we aren't enough help for her right now.

My mom is currently in the hospital and has been there through Christmas will have to possibly stay until the New Years Eve. She has been diagnosed with stage IV melanoma. They found nodes in her lungs, gallbladder, ovaries, liver, and pelvis. We are all terrified, but know that she has people in her corner and she have no intention of giving up. It is a battle she has won twice before, and intends on fighting twice as hard.
She doesn't want to leave behind a ten year old son and twenty-two year old daughter with no support. My mom lost her medical insurance coverage unexpectadly, and we know that we are not prepared for whatever it could be. This is why we are asking for help, in a time we so desperately need it. But unfortunately medical care is not free; and that is why we are asking for your help. Right now it’s even too early to estimate the ultimate cost of treatment, but we know that it is costly. On top of medical bills, she also has college tuition to support (a child in her senior year of college) and a ten year old with private school tuition, student loan dept, and rent payments that consume nearly everything. This is why we ask for help while my mom recieves her treatment and is out of work. Please show her that she doesn't have to do this  alone. Thank you, and have a happy New Year!
