Help the Edleston's lay Merrick to rest

As you may recall in Jan this year Merrick was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia) and has spent the majority of 2021 fighting a tough and brave battle with extensive chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant and more complications than any human body should ever have to endure.  After heading home in October (finally reaching in excess of 100 days post transplant) Merrick was home with his family finally all together.  Merrick was able to enjoy family time, home comforts, xbox with his mates growing back some hair and best of all- no more hospital.
After merely 3 weeks, Merrick reported not feeling well and headed back to the Royal Children's Hospital, the last place anyone had hoped for him to be.  With respiratory difficulties Merrick was sedated and placed on a ventilator and after some time this was just not working and Jonas and Maree faced the tough decision to place Merrick on life support.  After another host of further complications Merrick's body could just not fight any more.  The family said their goodbyes and Merrick passed away on October 17th, 2021 leaving Jonas, Maree, Angus, Asher, extended family and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Merrick, absolutely heartbroken.

Please help us as friends of the family reach out and offer our support in taking away one of the huge stresses during such an already tragic and heartbreaking time of loss and grief.

Please note the first $13,800 was withdrawn months ago for the family to use to cover parking and accommodations costs, petrol expenses, lost wages and other medical bills etc during the long battle Merrick endured through until October.  This current request is to raise funds to assist with funeral and related memorial costs.
