Everyone who knows me knows Merle is my perfect animal. Her cylindrical little body is always trotting along by my side, and her happy smiling face is always in the rearview mirror of my Yaris. Merle also loves a good game of disc golf.
Merle is at the vet right now with a severe, life-threatening intestinal obstruction. We don’t know how she got it - though we suspect it might have something to do with her being a pig and eating something she wasn't supposed to.
The vets are very nice and good and confident they can restore Merle to health. We are reaching out to you - friends of Merle, fans of Merle, friends of fans of Merle - to help defray the costs. Our medical bills are already around $4200 and she may need an additional surgery.
This is a really crushing expense for me and Micah, Merle's other owner, who also loves Merle very much. I know that you all have expenses too, so please only give if you feel you can afford it.
Although Merle is not young she still has a lot of life and years left in her and her issues, while expensive, are treatable. Those who have been lucky enough to see video footage of her tearing across the Pine Street Bridge know what I’m talking about. If you can give anything at all to help us get our beloved Merle back in action, we would be so grateful. All contributors will receive a video of Merle sprinting across the Pine Street Bridge after what we hope will be a speedy recovery.
