Merissa Kuntzman, 20 years old. Is from Edinburg, Ohio. A sophomore at Kentucky Mountain Bible college. She was about 5 miles from school on Saturday August 22, 2020. It had been raining, when she came to a curve she lost control of her car, hit the edge of a bridge the car flipped and dropped 30 foot down landing in a creek and on its roof. Thank God she was in God's hands. Two men helped her out of the car. She was transported to Kentucky River Medical Emergency, then transferred 86 miles away to UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital Pavilion H trauma emergency room. Where she waited until Monday morning to have a surgery. Her surgery was bumped on Sunday because of the shooting at Fayette mall. Merissa suffered 4 fractures of her pelvis and 3 fractures of her spine. They were able to screw 3 of the pelvis but unable to screw the front right side. She is still unable to move her Left arm. If her arm still is not moving soon, a neurologist will be called in for consult. Merissa is in good spirits. It took her family 5 1/2 hours to get to Lexington Kentucky. She will be in the hospital as of now for 1 to 2 weeks. Then will be transferred to a rehabilitation center. They said she would not walk for at least 2 months. Travel expense, food, lodging for the family is more than they can afford.
