As liscened foster parents we have experienced heartbreak... The purpose of the foster care system is to give children a safe place to stay while their parents get back on their feet in a healthy way- reunification is the goal- ALWAYS. When all avenues of reunification have be met and failed, is when a child become adoptable. We have had first hand experience with this- and then it not follow through. The purpose of this fundraiser is to pay to receive a PRIVATE home study, instead of working through our home study with the foster care system. With a private Home study we can open up many more doors for children in the foster system ready for adoption NOW.  For example with our current foster home study, we only qualify to have kids right in our county....a private home study qualifies us for the entire United States. Once our Private Home Study is complete- we are then able to apply for grants to help cover the rest of the cost of the adoption.
