Meredith's goes to Africa with HFH

My name is Meredith and on Friday, November 11th, I will be leaving for Salima, Malawi. I will be spending my days in Africa building homes for orphans with Habitat for Humannity.
When I was younger, I was certain that I was meant to go to the Peace Corps. Life got in the way, but I found joy in volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in Alaska. I’m seizing this moment to go on my first Habitat for Humanity Global Village build in Malawi, Africa, where I will assist my team in building homes for vulnerable children and orphans. Often, it is the grandmother or oldest or the in an orphan family that will become the head of their households. These teens or grandmother will carry on raising their siblings and families in the new homes we help them build, impacting generations. The youngest child in the family will eventually inherit the home to raise their own family in. I so believe in the mission of this project that I’ve taken out a personal loan of $4,000.00 to fly there in November, 2016 to participate. I would sincerely appreciate your support in helping me to pay it off as soon as possible.
