Mere Kanney Memorial Fund

My name is Rebecca Kanney. My mother, Mere Kanney, died yesterday 12/22/2020 at 6:21 pm from contracting Covid and suffering in the ICU for days. She was a registered nurse for 40 years as well as a teacher, wife, mother, and friend to many. She gave her life to be at the forefront of helping people no matter what.  She was compassionate, kind, and she never asked for anything in return. She was the best mother and wife to her family. 

Due to this shocking event, and unfortunate outcome from her dying from Covid, my family is scrambling trying to pay to have her cremated and funeral costs. She did not have a life insurance policy, so it has made it quite difficult to figure out how to financially afford this. My father is also now sick with Covid, so I do not want him to worry or struggle to pay for my mother's funeral costs. 

The cost of the cremation, the funeral costs, and making sure my dad is okay for at least a month until I can get things situated for him is around $2k. 
Because of covid, I am not able to financially take care of this for him and that's why I am asking for help. I don't want him to worry. 

I have her body going to the Thompson Funeral Home in Fort Worth.  I hope to get her cremated by the end of the week as the holidays are already hard enough and this is very hard for my family.
