Mercy House of the Southern Tier

The inspiration for Mercy House was driven by Father Clarence Rumble’s experience with a terminally ill family member.  His duties as both Pastor and caregiver forced him to find a facility to help with the situation.  The home-like community care shelter he found with a loving environment and dignified treatment of the residents ignited a passion in him to bring this type of home to the Southern Tier.  We are now moving forward to bring this vision to reality with an anticipated opening date of February 2016.

Mercy House of the Southern Tier will provide a home and a supportive family to people with terminal illnesses who can no longer stay at home.  Residents spend their final days surrounded by the love and compassionate support of family, friends, the Mercy House staff, volunteers and the unconditional love of God.

Residents receive quality care in a home-like environment that includes:

·         24-hour care as an alternative to nursing home, hospital or at-home care

·         Home cooked meals

·         Open visiting hours for family and friends

·         Private bedrooms with cable TV and telephone

·         Library and Chapel

·         Medical Care overseen by Hospice at Lourdes, our exclusive partner.
