BABIES are having Babies:
This scenario plays all over Liberia: young, unprepared girls (turned early mothers) are going through tumultuous times with their babies.
My name is Mellich Roland and while on vacation in Liberia, I came across this young mother (Mercy) with her 2month-old baby- it broke my heart. She was riding on the "pehn-pehn" when we spotted her. Imagine what could happen if there is an accident
This wasn't a part of our mission in Liberia but we took on the challenge to help her and the little baby. We sat with her and learned her story and struggles.
We have provided help with some basic supplies but need your help. We know that the baby needs periodic visits to the hostipal for wellness check up, nutritious food, safe transportation ( taxi versus motor cycles "pehn-pehn"), amongst others.
As everyone has seen and learned from the live videos with Mercy via FaceBook, young mothers, especially those living in underdeveloped communities and countries need alot of help and support. All funds donated here will help cover costs for doctor visits, food for the baby, safe transportation for traveling with the baby and a trade training program for the young mother.
We know that we can not solve all the challenges Mercy will face but a little bit of help can go a long way.
