Mercia Boxing Club-New Venue Resources
Donation protected
As a mother of a 14 year old boy, who would never have dreamt her son would even entertain getting involved in boxing as a sport, I was not only surprised that he would even consider it, I was also scared at the thought.
Having watched boxing with my Dad as a child, knowing and seeing it as a sport, when it comes to your own child, you initially see it in a different light.
Now after 2 years of him being at Mercia Boxing Club, it has shown me how good this can be for children/young adults, in many ways. It requires hard work and dedication, so I have the utmost respect for those children and young adults who are giving their all to this sport, between education and work and/or their other after school hobbies/interests.
I would therefore like to help raise money towards what Mercia will need to set up their new club venue, that they have fought (pardon the pun) so hard for. With the help and support of others, it will enable them to give more children/young adults opportunities within the club.
So I have decided to set myself a challenge, that will hopefully help spur the other people of the club on too. I know that, as well as the coaches, the support of parents and carers means a lot to them. I therefore plan to jog/run 2 miles a day, everyday for the whole month of April 2024!
Whilst this may not seem far for some, although I used to jog regularly many years ago, I haven’t for quite some time, so this will be like me starting again, but if I can raise money for the club by people sponsoring me to do this, then I will be extremely grateful, as will the club.
Any donations, whatever the amount, will be much appreciated.
Thanking you in advance for your support.
