The year 2020 was one heck of a year for everyone. In October of 2020 our world was turned upside down when we learned the horrible news everyone dreads to here. Brain Tumor. How wonderful loving and caring amazing husband father and grandfather was diagnosed with brain cancer. Our lives changed in an instant. We went from what was a normal for us to a life with traveling, Doctors, hospitals, tests and procedures, and treatments. Then in November the lead neurosurgeon ordered a PET scan (a scan of the whole body) to see if there was any areas affected also. We received the news on December 17th 2020 that he also had stage four lung cancer. Surgery was scheduled on December 31st 2020 to remove the tumor in the brain. He came out of surgery doing remarkably well. They sent the tumor off to the Mayo clinic for pathology when the results came back on January 19th 2021 we learned that the cancer he was going to be fighting was metastatic stage 4 distant renal cell carcinoma, kidney cancer. he had kidney cancer in March of 2017 and had his left kidney removed in April of 2017. At that point we thought he was going to be fine until that horrible day 3 and 1/2 years later.  Now he is facing a long hard fight as we we move forward. He, we is/are going to fight till the fight is done. We have been told that the lung cancer is non-curable but that they can treat him to slow the progression and that he has a 75% chance of having two more years with us and only a 12% chance at having five more years with us. So we are going to make the time that we have the best that we can. We, as a family, are asking for assistance from all the generous people who will see this he does have Medicare and Medicaid to cover medical bills, however, we are needing help with the expenses of daily living loss of income traveling and lodging expenses from Sheridan Wyoming to Billings Montana every other week for doctor's appointments and further testing and treatments and for living expenses for my wife and children that are still at home.
